SILKYPIX in Use

Auto White Balance

SILKYPIX helps you improve photos with light source based issues with its White Balance tools.

Two Types of SILKYPIX Auto White Balance

Your camera may make decisions for you when applying auto white balance. With SILKYPIX, you have two ready and easy choices in correcting Auto White Balance:

  • Auto White Balance (Absolute) for correcting the details and color of your light source
  • Auto White Balance (Natural) for restoring color that was washed out by your light source

This photo was taken under a light bulb.

Auto White Balance: Absolute vs Natural

The version on the left uses Auto White Balance (Absolute) to achieve a very realistic and accurate white balance. The version on the right uses Auto White Balance (Natural) which is less accurate but has a more perceptively natural color.

Multiple Light Sources

SILKYPIX helps you improve photos with multiple light source based issues with its White Balance tools.

Color Correction of Multiple Light Sources

You camera will make decisions on white balance when multiple types of light sources are present. This example scene was shot under florescent and ambient lighting. More correctly, this creates a problem with color temperature because of the measured color of two sources of light in the image.

Florescent Lighting and Ambient Lighting

This photo was taken under a very strong florescent light, but also was influenced by ambient light coming from the back. The two light sources resulted in different color temperatures in different parts of the image. Use the Multi-Light Source Compensation slider to harmonize color temperatures in your photo.
